A local sorority continues its tradition of feeding the less fortunate this holiday season.
The Beta Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority provided Thanksgiving Dinner for some inner city residents.
"Service to all mankind is our motto, said Andrea Miles, President of the Beta Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. "So we enjoy providing community service and we feet not only the body, but we try to feet the soul as well."
The event was held at the Bethlehem Center on North Blair Street in Jackson.
There was a free Thanksgiving meal with all the fixings, fellowship, music and entertainment.
"Just also giving the people an opportunity to have a meal," said participant Justin Terry. "Everybody is not fortunate enough to have Thanksgiving at home, and I just think it's a great thing that they're doing for the people in the community".
The dinner also included a free health fair.
