RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Video of a fight between students at Northwest Rankin High School has been circulating on social media, calling into question how the school handled the incident, as well as the overall problem of bullying.

This cell phone video shows a student sitting in the gym when another student starts hitting him before pulling him to the ground. The father of the student posted on Facebook saying he had been bullied by his attackers.

In the Facebook post, he says "Being bullied is no joke unless u attend NWR."

Jennifer Sullivan, mother of the student, says her son was suspended from school following the incident. His family has since removed him from the school out of fear for his safety.

Sullivan is now raising questions about how the school responded to the incident.

The Rankin County School District responded by saying:
"An administrator was present in the gym at the time of the incident, and was able to diffuse the situation in less than 20 seconds. Northwest Rankin High School officials were not made aware of a previous conflict between these two students."

Should he have been suspended and could officials have done more about the alleged bullying problem? Let us know on our Facebook page or our online poll.
