YAZOO CITY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Yazoo City man whose sense of design influenced governors and multiple generations of Mississippi families has died.

Cary “KK” Hill was killed in a one-car crash Wednesday evening. Yazoo County Sheriff Jacob Sheriff says it happened on Grand Avenue in Yazoo City.

Hill was a designer and event-planner who spent many years decorating people’s homes, especially at Christmas. He worked with several first ladies to get the Governor’s Mansion ready for the holidays.

Most recently, he was director of the Triangle Cultural Center in Yazoo City.

Late Wednesday night and Thursday morning, friends remembered him with tributes on his Facebook page. Some called him "larger than life" and recalled his boisterous laugh and colorful stories.

He was 62 years old.
