Raymond beats Leake Central for their first state title since 1999

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - SharDarrion Allen scored a game-high 18 points to lead Raymond over Leake Central 52-46 in the Mississippi Boys Class 4A championship game on Thursday.

The Rangers (23-5) captured their second state championship in school history and first state title since 1999.

Keivonte Watts and Jared Keys each added eight points for Raymond while Tavian Coleman scored seven.

Raymond led the entire game until Leake Central's Adonis Towner hit a 3-pointer with 5:34 left in the fourth quarter that gave the Gators a 38-37 lead.

There were four lead changes in the fourth quarter and Leake Central led 46-45 late, but Raymond scored the last seven points of the game.

Leake Central (29-2) was led by Nijel Goss, who scored 10 points. Casey McQueen and Decquin Bounds both added nine points for the Gators.
