A 73-year-old man was arrested and charged after Rankin County made a moonshine bust on Henry Sample Road.
Henry Sample was charged on March 30 with a felony for manufacturing or distilling alcohol and the unlawful possession of a still.
Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Agents executed a search warrant at Sample's home on 197 Henry Sample Road, in Rankin County.
During the search, agents discovered an illegal distillery (still) located in a shed behind the suspects residence.
Agents seized approximately 43 gallons moonshine; 5 barrel illicit distillery consisting of 250 gallons corn mash; an 110 gallon cooker; 2 copper condensers; raw materials consisting of corn and sugar; and a stolen handgun.
Sample was charged with a misdemeanor charge of possession of alcoholic beverages in a dry county.
He was also charged with a felony for manufacturing or distilling alcohol and the unlawful possession of a still.
On March 30, a felony affidavit was filed and Mr. Sample was booked at Rankin County Jail on a felony charge. His bond was set at $3000.
