Vicksburg coach resigns following DUI arrest

VICKSBURG, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Vicksburg-Warren School District has confirmed that Vicksburg High School Football Coach Marcus Rogers has resigned.

Thirty-eight-year-old 38- year-old Rogers was arrested and charged with a DUI after an accident earlier this week.  

The wreck happened at Lee Road and Old Highway 27 in Warren County He was released Thursday on a $1,000 bond.

Sheriff Martin Pace said that the wreck indicated the car was leased to Vicksburg Warren School District.  

Rogers led the Gators to back-to-back playoff appearances and won nine games during the 2016 season.
