C Spire will soon launch what the corporation calls a revolutionary a new digital TV app. That's because they believe the way folks are watching television has changed dramatically in the past few years.
The new streaming TV service can be downloaded for free to those who already have access to C Spire's fiber service in the Metro area as well as Quitman and Starkville. It eliminates the need for cable set-top boxes that customers have to pay rental fees for according to the press release.
It has replay TV and cloud DVR features for viewing anytime. The product manager says the C spire TV app opens up a world of content on any screen in the house.
"Most folks now have a Roku or an Apple TV or an Amazon Fire in the house," said Rob Rubinoff. "C Spire is the first television platform specifically designed to work on these and offer at the same time live and local programming."
HD is provided at no extra cost.
Rubinoff says people are moving away from cable pay TV services. The new app is expected to be launched later this spring for free. It will be available for customers of C Spire Fiber's gigabit internet product.
