The Mississippi Department of Corrections is continuing sweeps of state facilities.
Wednesday morning, corrections officers searched the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility in Greenville.
They found no contraband in the housing area for females, but found quite a haul in an area where males are held while awaiting transfer to prison.
Officers confiscated assorted smart phones, phone chargers, bags of tobacco, packs of marijuana and spice, cigarette lighters, cigarettes, packs of Top paper, shanks, a pocket knife, and a sock filled with rocks.
24-year-old correctional officer Africa Lance, who worked at the facility, was arrested. She is charged with misdemeanor possession of contraband. Several illegal items, including an open bottle of vodka, were found inside her car.
The shakedown is the 12th under Operation Zero Tolerance.
Corrections Commissioner Pelicia Hall started the large scale searches in March to prevent the flow of contraband.
