Three is on your side took a look at crime in the City of Clinton where the numbers are decreasing.

"No, we haven't had much problem in the neighborhood since they moved this up here on this end across from Walmart," said Louis Walsh.

Walsh, a thirty-year Clinton resident, is referring to Clinton Police Department's annex station off Highway 80. Its doors have been open now for more than one year. Crime has started decreasing since the conception with a few added factors.

"The inception of the precinct annex on the east end of town back in 2015, that put our patrol officers in an area that has seen a little bit of an increase in crime," said Captain Steve Menotti. "By putting those officers out there they are more visible and quicker to respond to any calls we have in that area."

More officers have also been added to the force. Captain Menotti said property crimes have decreased more than 40 percent between 2013 and 2016. Those crimes have also decreased more than 40 percent just this year. Menotti said this drop also has to do with the vigilant residents in the city.

"We've seen a decrease with the cooperation of our citizens with our lock it or lose it campaign," added Captain Menotti. "Partnering with us, keeping everything locked up, all their homes and vehicles locked up, and keeping all the valuables out of site."

"We have our crime," added Walsh. "But they generally catch them pretty quick."
