STARKVILLE, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Mississippi State is on the other end of the Hattiesburg bracket. The Bulldogs will hop down 55, 20 and 49 to The Pete.

Andy Cannizaro wants the maroon and white fanbase to infiltrate black and gold territory.

"We got a lot of preparation to do this week. Love the fact that we're still playing, love the fact that we're going right to Hattiesburg. It will give our fans the opportunity to get into the ballpark, give our fans a chance to be there, support us. And do everything we can to continue to show the country that we have the greatest fans in college baseball."

Jake Mangum also embraces the opportunity to play postseason ball a short drive from Starkville. "Really excited. You get to stay in-state, so you already know a bunch of fans will go down to Hattiesburg. My mom went to Southern Miss, it'll be pretty cool to play down there, so really excited about it."

Mississippi State will face South Alabama Friday at 6:00pm. You can watch the game online at ESPN3.com.
