HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Sunday, Mark Jones, with the City of Clinton, confirmed a Hinds County Penal Farm employee was stopped and cited for DUI.

Jones said  61-year-old Albert Shurden was pulled over by a Clinton PD officer Saturday during a traffic stop on Highway 80. The incident occurred near the Dollar Store.

He says Shurden was in a county vehicle.

Jones said the issue is now a personnel matter for the Hinds County Sheriff's Department.

We are unsure if Shurden was on the clock for work at the time of the traffic stop.

The Jackson resident failed a field sobriety test. Shurden bonded out Saturday morning.

Jones says Shurden will make an initial court appearance on Monday in Clinton Municipal Court on June 21.
