NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Daryl Macon scored 25 points and hit five 3-pointers to lead Arkansas to its third straight victory with an 88-63 win over Troy on Saturday night. The points are the second highest total of the season for Macon, who had 27 in a win over Oklahoma on Nov. 23. The senior finished 8 of 14 from the field and 5 of 9 from behind the arc for the Razorbacks (8-2), who shot 62.1 percent (18 of 29) in the first half on their way to the convincing win.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Mustapha Heron returned from a one-game absence and scored a team-high 16 points to help lead Auburn to a 76-70 victory over Middle Tennessee State at the BHM JAM at Legacy Arena on Saturday. The sophomore guard, who had been out since Dec. 6 due to back spasms, shot 5 of 7 from the field and also pulled down five rebounds in the victory.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Anders Broman scored 19 points and led five players in double-figure scoring as Winthrop kept Alabama State winless with an 88-80 victory on Saturday. Bjorn Broman added 18 points, shooting 6 of 10 from beyond the arc for the Eagles (6-4), who have won four of their last five. Josh Ferguson had 14 points and led with 13 rebounds for his third double-double this season, Nych Smith had 12 points and Jermaine Ukaegbu had 10 point with nine rebounds.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Brandon Silvers passed for four touchdowns and ran for another, Troy produced five turnovers and the Trojans beat North Texas 50-30 in the New Orleans Bowl on Saturday. Josh Anderson, filling in for injured starter Jordan Chunn, rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns, and Silvers also scored on a short run to help Troy (11-2) win for the 21st time in two seasons.

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Benjamin Batts hit a 3-pointer to get LSU Shreveport within a point of Northwestern State with a minute to play and DJ Clayton scored on a layup with 14 seconds left to lift the NAIA-Pilots to an 85-84 upset of the Division I Demons Saturday night in the second annual Shreveport-Bossier Holiday Classic at the Gold Dome. LSU Shreveport has been an NAIA basketball powerhouse since the program was reinstated in 2003 and has reached the NAIA National Tournament every year since 2005.

THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - Roddy Peters and Lafayette Rutledge each scored 18 points to lead five in double-figure scoring and Nicholls routed NAIA Culver-Stockton 92-51 on Saturday night. Peters was 8 of 11 from the field, and Rutledge was 6-of-10 shooting from 3-point range. Tevon Saddler added 15 points for Nicholls (5-5), which shot 50 percent from the floor to snap a two-game skid. Jahvaughn Powell chipped in 14 points and Ryghe Lyons had 12.

HAMMOND, La. (AP) - A jumper by Drake Wilks capped a frantic final possession that saw Grambling take three shots and defeat Southeastern Louisiana 68-67 on Saturday after coming from 12 points down late in the game. James Currington scored to give the Lions a 67-63 lead with 48 seconds remaining and Grambling took over from there.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Cortez Edwards scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Southern Miss to its fourth straight victory Saturday with a 75-58 win over NAIA program William Carey. Trailing by four early in the second half, Southern Miss (7-4) got a 3-pointer from Tyree Griffin to spark a 16-4 run to put the Golden Eagles on top for good 44-36 with just under 14 minutes to play.

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Keyshawn Evans scored 25 points, including the go-ahead basket in overtime Saturday, as Illinois State defeated Mississippi 101-97. Illinois State (5-6) led by as many as 14 points in the second half and missed a potential game-winning shot to send it to overtime at 87-87. Evans, who added seven assists and four rebounds, hit a 3-point shot to open overtime - his fifth bucket from behind the arc - and the Redbirds never trailed again.

AKRON, Ohio (AP) - Daniel Utomi had 23 points while pulling down seven rebounds to help keep Akron undefeated at home as the Zips dominated the first half and cruised to an 81-63 win over Mississippi Valley State on Saturday afternoon. Akron (6-2, 6-0 at home) charged out to a 27-9 advantage at the midpoint of the first half and took a 42-25 lead into the break.
