BRANDON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

They will soon be making music at the new Brandon Amphitheater.

The newly built venue will hold their first concert Wednesday night.

The finishing touches were being put on the Brandon Amphitheater Tuesday, just in time for their grand opening.

The $15 million facility has seating for 8,000.

Ten concerts are already lined up for the venue and music fans should expect more.

"We're very excited," said Jay Wilson of Red Mountain Entertainment. "We've been talking to booking agents in Nashville, New York, LA for the last couple years letting them know this place was coming and they are very excited. For many years, some of the bigger touring artists have bypassed Jackson and it's on the radar now."SKY TRACKER VIDEO: Brandon Amphitheater ready for first concert

"I think it's going to be a lightning rod for restaurants and hotels," said Brandon Mayor Butch Lee. "I already know of one hotel. I think they just inked a deal at exit 54."

Mayor Lee says the Amphitheater is expected to bring over 50,000 visitors to the area annually, which could provide a major boost into the economy.

"You will have people from Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama coming here to enjoy what we have," said Mayor Lee. "It's right here at our fingertips right here in central Mississippi. It's going to be a wonderful thing."

Music fans are also excited about the entertainment venue now in their backyard.

Nancy Stallings, of Brandon, watched the construction progress and now can't believe her eyes.

"I am in awe," said Stallings. "This is an awesome place. It's going to be a great attraction for Brandon, for anyone who comes out here to enjoy a concert. You're going to have a great time and a great venue."
