JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police are investigating a homicide after the body of an alleged suspect from a previous stabbing was found on Woodrow Wilson Avenue Sunday, April 15.

Officers responded to the area shortly before 2:00 p.m. after hearing that lawn service workers discovered a body.

Sergeant Roderick Holmes has identified the victim as 60-year-old Montague Kennedy.

Kennedy was an alleged suspect in a possible stabbing three days prior.

On Thursday, April 12, officers responded to a local hospital following reports of a stabbing.

When they arrived, they learned that a 21-year-old man had arrived with multiple stab wounds. Due to the victim’s condition, officers were not able to get an adequate amount of details, but the victim was able to say that he had stabbed another man who attempted to assault him.

At the time, officers were unable to determine the incident location or identify the other person involved.

Police say the 21-year-old man, who was last still hospitalized, is a person of interest in the homicide investigation.

This is an ongoing investigation and no arrests have been made in this case.
