It's the final week of spring practice at Mississippi State. Of course the headliner in Starkville is Joe Moorhead's offense.
But who will fill all 11 spots is the big question. Nick Fitzgerald and Keytaon Thompson will battle for QB1. Younger faces in the backfield and perimeter make for a fluid depth chart heading to Saturday's Maroon and White Game.
"You look at running back with Williams and Hill, and then the other guys pushing," Moorhead said. "Nick and KT are pushing each other, the entire receiving corps, cause that's an unknown commodity, that's a daily battle. Tight end, we have 3 or 4 guys working there, across the board defensively. And that's one of the great opportunities for a team with a new coaching staff is that the depth chart is written in pencil not in pen. If you come out and don't perform, the guy behind you does better, then you'll move down on the depth chart and the guy will replace you."
Saturday's Maroon & White Game features NFL guest captains like Dak Prescott. Kickoff is at 3:00pm at Davis Wade Stadium. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
