VICKSBURG, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Downtown Vicksburg was transformed Friday and Saturday for the 31st annual Riverfest! The festival is only getting bigger and better each year, with no shortage of things to see and do.

Seven-year-old Andrew Masif was brave enough to ride a mechanical bull.

"Crazy. Crazy fast," said Masif. "It was going really fast, I had to squeeze tight."

People like Timothy Bordelon make the whole thing possible. Bordelon owns Slippin' Slidin' Water Slides. He brings some fun to the fest, and in return, gets to show off his stuff.

"It's fun for us, it does a lot of advertising for us, and the kids love it," said Bordelon. "You've gotta beat them off the inflatables!"

The festival really is a great chance for new local businesses to interact with the community.

Gabriela Morogan just started with a belt company last month, and already had a place at the festival selling her merchandise.

"Totally new! It's exciting. Everybody's excited that they have a local belt business," said Morogan, who works with the Vicksburg Belt Company, part of Mississippi TanTec Leather, Inc. "We have the leather made in the US, and we can produce belts in the U.S."

And of course, we can't forget about the food.

We asked 8-year-old Damarcus Spencer what his favorite part of the festival was.

"Eating snowcones, nachos, funnel cake," replied Spencer.

In the evening, the festival transformed, and music artists like Uncle Cracker and William Michael Morgan took the stage.
