Seven local women are giving back to their community with food and conversation. They call themselves, Best Friends Feeding.
Recognizing that there were so many people in the city of Jackson that needed help they created their group. Using money out of their own pockets they prepare meals large enough to feed 100 people. They say their mission is about helping people that need a meal but it's also about helping those that just want someone to talk to.
Brittney McGriggs says that making time for things can be difficult but certain things are worth it.
"Most of us have busy lives but we still have time to come out and help those, not necessarily just the homeless, but anyone who could benefit from our services," she said.
Paul Roberts received a meal today. He described what it's like to be hungry.
"Whenever I get hungry I feel like one of these lost puppies that's out on the streets and just trying to get thru a single day. It's kinda pitiful really," said Roberts.
The women say they welcome donations. Non-perishable items and clothing would be very helpful.
