VICKSBURG, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Late Tuesday night, a man was stabbed at a Vicksburg gas station. 

Around 9:47 p.m. Vicksburg police responded to The Speedmart Convenience Store on Washington Street in reference to a person that had been stabbed.

When police arrived, they found they found 27-year-old Desmond Jermaine Taylor had tried to leave on foot, and made it to 2928 Valley Street where he was lying in the street.

Taylor had been stabbed twice; he was taken to Merritt Health River Region Medical Center by ambulance.

He had sustained a punctured lung and was later listed in stable condition.

Police learned Taylor got into a fight with 39-year-old Charles Benard Scott aka “Black Eye” of 2532 Oak Street in the parking lot of The Speedmart Convenience.

While fighting Scott pulled a knife and stabbed Taylor two times then ran from the area on foot.

Vicksburg Police needs the help of the community to help find Scott for the stabbing of Taylor.
