An Alabama resident, whose children live in Mississippi, was ordered Tuesday to pay back more than $30,000 of child support after pleading guilty to one count of non-support of a child.
Hinds County Circuit Court Judge Jeff Weill ordered 49-year-old Mike Kimble Ragsdale Sr. to pay $30,978.31 in restitution after failing to pay child support for more than six years.
He must also make payments for future child support and reimburse the state of Mississippi $1,000 for the cost of extradition from Alabama.
Judge Weill sentenced Ragsdale to five years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with those five years suspended. He was also sentenced to five years of supervised probation, which, when completed, will non-adjudicate the case.
Ragsdale was indicted in October on two counts of non-support of a child, but the second count was dropped in exchange for his plea.
