The city of Jackson announced Monday that they're releasing more that 20,000 water bills currently unreleased within the city's system.
Payment plans will be offered for customers who have not received a bill in recent months. Those customers will be allowed to pay back what they owe over as many months as they've not received a water bill.
For example, if a customer hasn't received a bill in six months, they have six months to pay the city back.
"The main consideration is that we get accurate bills to people, that we have the team on the ground to ensure that this problem no longer exists," said Mayor Lumumba. "And moving forward, the city if responsible in how it is issuing bills to citizens."
Residents have the option to either pay in full or use the payment plan provided by the city as they work with Siemens to get water bills out to everyone in the city.
