A husband and wife in Lawrence County have been indicted for embezzlement.
49-year-old Tina King and 56-year-old Randy King are being charged with stealing from the water system they worked for. She is charged with embezzlement. He is charged with being an accessory after the fact.
Ryan Everett, the investigator with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department says they took quite a substantial sum dating back to 2008 through 2015. He says the indictments follow a two and a half year investigation.
Everett also says a bank employee noticed an odd signature on a check in 2015. An association board member confirmed it was forged. An audit soon followed.
Tina King was secretary and bookkeeper for the Jayess Topeka-Tilton Water Association. Randy King worked in the field. She was released on a $10,000 bond Monday. He was released on a $5,000 dollar bond.
