OKTIBBEHA COUNTY (Mississippi News Now) -

Mississippi State linebacker Leo Lewis was arrested early Friday morning on a charge of disorderly conduct.

According to the Oktibbeha County Sheriff's Office, the 21-year-old from Brookhaven was arrested around 1:00 a.m. Friday. Deputies  were called out to the Aspen Heights Apartments after a call about a large crowd of people and cars blocking streets.

While deputies were attempting to clear the scene, a car reportedly driven by Lewis attempted to push through traffic despite warnings from deputies for traffic to exit in the opposite direction.

After several attempts were made for Lewis to comply with deputies, he was arrested. He was taken to the Oktibbeha County Jail and later released on a $483 bond.

Lewis is part of the NCAA investigation into gifts given by boosters to prospective athletes at Ole Miss.

The NCAA says Lewis received merchandise from an Oxford business and $21,000 in cash.
