Mississippi Braves third baseman and Mississippi native, Austin Riley, was promoted from Double-A Mississippi to Triple-A Gwinnett.
21-year-old Riley is promoted to Gwinnett after playing 75 games for the M-Braves over the 2017 and 2018 seasons batting .321 with 19 doubles, 14 home runs, 47 RBI and 45 runs scored.
His .333 batting average currently ranks seventh in the Southern League while he led the league in extra-base hits with 19, a .677 slugging percentage and 67 total bases.
Riley was tied for first in home runs with six and second with 20 RBI.
Riley became the first M-Braves player to record two triples in one game since Ozzie Albies did so on April 17, 2016 against Chattanooga. Riley recorded his two-triple game on April 18 against Pensacola. He also had a two-homer game on April 12 at Biloxi, the third of his career, and first of the season for the M-Braves.
A native of Hernando, Riley was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in 2015 as their selection in the Competitive Balance Round A (No. 41 overall) out of Desoto Central High School.
RHP Andres Santiago has been transferred from Gwinnett to Mississippi.
28-year-old Santiago has appeared in five games this season for Gwinnett, three being starts and is 1-1 with a 4.03 ERA. In two games, one start for the M-Braves, Santiago has no record and a 1.13 ERA.
