SCOTT COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Scott County man acquitted of a rape charge but sentenced to 70 years for kidnapping, robbery and extortion won a portion of his appeal.

The Mississippi Supreme Court ruled Thursday that 26-year-old Damion Pace's robbery conviction and 20 year sentence should be thrown out.

The court upholds his convictions for two counts of kidnapping and one count of extortion. Pace was convicted in 2010 for the kidnapping of a Scott County woman and her four-month-old daughter.
