Suspect in deadly shooting on Queen Mary Lane turns himself in to police

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police have made an arrest in a deadly shooting that occurred on Queen Mary Lane. 

Police have charged 25-year-old Christopher Devon Thompson in the shooting death of Deonta McGee. Thompson surrendered to police Monday.

RELATED: Suspect named in fatal Friday night shooting

Thompson attended his initial appearance earlier today and was denied bond.

Over the weekend, officers responded to the west Jackson neighborhood on calls of someone possibly being shot. When they arrived, they found McGee suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper-body.

He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. 

This investigation is ongoing.
