HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Hinds County Sheriff's Investigators, along with U.S. Marshals and Jackson Police, have captured an escapee from the Hinds County Detention Center.

Officers located Rodderick Raheen Jones at 2804 Marydale Street in south Jackson just after 11:30 p.m.

Jones was being held on murder, aggravated assault, and a weapons charge prior to his escape.

Major Pete Luke says he now faces an additional charge of escape. Jones has been returned to the Raymond Detention Center.

Jones was discovered missing shortly after breakfast Wednesday during the morning headcount. Luke said Jones, of Jackson, escaped Tuesday night through a hole in the wall that went up through the chase and out of the roof.

Jones was arrested in September of 2017 for the murder of 30-year-old Kendrick Hughes. Three people were shot on Rebel Woods Drive on Sunday, September 17 around 2:00 p.m. The shootings happened at the Pine Ridge Gardens Apartment on Rebel Woods Drive in Jackson.
