WARREN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Three people are in custody in Warren County in connection with a shooting that happened early Sunday morning in the parking lot of the K & B Lounge. Three people were injured in the shooting.

"It is frustrating that someone with that mentality would fire a gun into a crowd of people," said Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace. "That will not be tolerated."

Sheriff Pace says it was on Greenhill Place in the parking lot of K & B Lounge that violence broke out.

“When officers arrived on the scene they found an adult male with a gunshot wound to the head, an adult female that had a gunshot wound to the buttocks, and a young man who had been run over by vehicle,” added Sheriff Pace.

The Sheriff says an argument took place at another location earlier that day and later the dispute turned into gunfire outside the lounge.

“It is still early in this investigation, but it appears the people involved in the shooting had been involved in an altercation earlier," said Sheriff Pace. "They came looking for a person or persons. It is unclear if the people injured were the targets of their anger or whether they got caught in the crossfire.”

Sheriff Pace says 19-year-old Tony Smoots, 20-year-old Keondre Price and 21-year-old Charles Doss Jr., all of Vicksburg, were arrested.

Each faces three counts of aggravated assault.  Pace says more charges could follow. Investigators also executed a search warrant and seized a 1984 Oldsmobile and recovered two weapons.

Pace says K & B Lounge has also been temporarily shut down.

“We have had trouble with that club before," the Sheriff said. "That club has been closed down before and that club is closed down now until further notice.”
