Davis Bradshaw was picked by the Marlins in the 11th Round of the 2018 MLB Draft. The McLaurin native hit .756 in 2016 for the Tigers. He followed that with a .442 average this season with Meridian Community College.
Bradshaw will join the lineage of Eagle standouts to turn pro.
"I'm going to sign with the Miami Marlins. It's really cool just to know that they can help young players in the future. They have potential in me and I can't wait to get started down there. I had people calling me from all over, so it's just a real humbling situation the progress you went through and know how hard you worked.
Davis said that he became more patient at the plate this spring in JUCO ball. "I saw a lot more pitches, a lot more walks. And when people pitched around me, I didn't hesitate. Just took my walks, stole some bags. I'd like to get a little bit stronger and more stamina. That's been my two biggest things."
