HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A grandmother and her two grandsons were able to escape before her home was destroyed by a fire early Tuesday morning.

The home was located on Thousand Oaks Circle off Highway 18. The Jackson fire department was able to put out the fire and a fire investigator is working to determine the cause.

The homeowner, Dian Glore, moved to the home from Atlanta about a year ago. Her grandsons, ages 4 and 5, were visiting her when the fire broke out.

Division Fire Chief Cleotha Sanders says there were no injuries in the blaze.

Glore says she believes it was a new air conditioner that contractors installed over the weekend. She says the fire sparked up first in the back of the house, where the air conditioner was located.

Glore is a breast cancer survivor and a heart patient and has no idea how she’s going to get her medicine. She says she’s happy to be alive, but her life is just about the only thing she has left after the blaze.
