JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

There were rallies all across the nation Tuesday night, including here in Mississippi, protesting President Trump's pick to replace U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy.

One of those rallies was held here in the Capital City.

The protesters gathered outside the state Supreme Court in Jackson, saying they fear Brett Kavanaugh will roll back abortion rights, affordable health care and more.

Felicia Brown-Williams, Mississippi State Director of Planned Parenthood shared her thoughts on the rallies.

"Rallies are great. They're a way to harness people's energy for the short term," said Williams. "We want to make sure people have an opportunity to express their concerns, but then the real work starts and us reaching out to U. S. senators is going to be a lot of that work as we move forward."

Rallies were also held in Hattiesburg and Gulfport.
