Talkback 3: Traffic Control...or Lack Thereof

It took 1 1/2 hours for us to exit at Lakeland Drive from a point just south of Meadowbrook before the Saints game on Saturday night.  Do you know why? Simply because there was NO traffic control on Lakeland. The traffic signals had NOT been adjusted for incoming traffic, and consequently the exiting interstate lanes were gridlocked.

The most basic traffic control is proactive - the traffic signals are turned off and police are stationed at the respective intersections to move vehicles through in an efficient manner. This is how it is done in a viable city, with pre-existing protocols in place.

This situation was totally avoidable - it reflects not only inept management, but gross incompetence. Such a lack of planning suggests that those responsible did not even realize the potential for this mess.
