Mississippi Soldiers Honored

Two fallen Mississippi soldiers are being honored in two separate ceremonies this weekend.

Specialist Robert Allen McNail and Sergeant Robert Shane Pugh were both Mississippi Army National Guard soldiers who lost their lives in Iraq. Armories in Quitman and Morton are being renamed in honor of the two men.   Both men served with the 155th Combat Brigade, which spent most of 2005 in Iraq.  There are now 10 guard buildings in Mississippi that are named after soldiers who died in the line of duty.  At least 53 Mississippi soldiers and marines from Mississippi or with strong ties to the state have died in the wars in Afghanistan or Iraq.
