Insurance Commissioner George Dale will be running for re-election as a Democrat.
A judge reversed a Democratic Executive Committee decision that had removed Dale from the August 7th party primary.
The party had questioned dale's loyalty after he expressed support for George W. Bush in the 2004 presidential race.
Dale faces Jim Raspberry and former State Fiscal Officer Gary Anderson in the Democratic Primary.
Ronnie English and State Senator Mike Chaney are seeking the Republican nomination.
The general election is November 6th.
