State Senator Charlie Ross kicked off his statewide campaign tour in Brandon, his hometown.
The 50-year-old former Air Force fighter pilot says the race is going to be about who has the conservative vision for Mississippi.
Ross faces state auditor Phil Bryant, another Brandon resident, in the August 7th Republican Primary. He called for a series of debates with Bryant to be held in different locations around the state.
So far, state representative Jamie Franks of Mooresville is the only Democratic contender for Lieutenant Governor.
