Talk Back 3: Police Officer Using Pepper Spray On A Group of Unruly Kids

Our local TV stations reported, police officer used pepper spray on a group of unruly kids.  Where does the problem begin?

Mostly kids at a nine pm rated R movie?

Parents dropping off kids at a nine pm rated R movie? A movie theater allowing kids at a nine pm rated R movie?

I cannot throw stones, it is my understanding that a couple of those kids at the nine pm rated R movie were my relatives Adults cannot enjoy a Saturday night at the movies anymore. Saturday nights are more like a Saturday afternoon matinee (patron wise).

I feel the police officer was just doing his job, ensuring law and order. A call was made, he responded, and policed the situation.  Had the situation been reversed, that crowd of unruly kids at a nine pm rated R movie, could have harmed that officer, it was apparent they had no respect for the law or the law enforcer.

Should we be surprised?  Are not wars, violence and lawlessness signs of the time?  Events will get worse, not better.  I for one feel safer, with a police officer doing what he was hired to do, police.

On the subject of unruly kids, the Yazoo city juvenile detention center is just a party you cannot leave when you want.  These days going to the detention center increases your popularity.  You can have fast food and snack delivered as long as enough is brought for the other detention guests, sounds like a party to me.

I hope that my waking at two o' clock in the morning to get this off my mind will make us assess the situation with the kids and come up with a solution.

I am available and ask the publics help to help me, help them. Juanita Collum Bentonia
