JACKSON , Miss. (AP) - Matt Kingsley scored a game high 26 points to lead Stephen F. Austin to a 82-67 victory Saturday over Jackson State. Stephen F. Austin (5-1) went on a 14-2 run to take a 26-14 lead with 7:32 remaining in the first half. The Lumberjacks ended the first half with three straight 3-point baskets to lead 39-29.
The Lumberjacks opened the second half with a 7-0 run to extend its lead to 46-29. Jackson State (1-7) closed to within 58-53 on a basket from Darrion Griffin. Kingsley responded with three straight baskets for a 64-53 lead that the Lumberjacks never gave up. Gerald Fonzie added 19 points, Josh Alexander 16 and Eric Bell 13 for Stephen F. Austin, which shot 63 percent and out rebounded Jackson State 26-20.
Grant Maxey led Jackson State with 18 points while Jeremy Caldwell had 17 and Griffin had 11.
