Tonight is the final night of preliminary competition at the Miss America Pageant. Wednesday night Miss Mississippi, Kimberly Morgan competed in swimsuit or lifestyle and fitness. The winner in swimsuit was Miss Michigan, Kirsten Haglund. She will win a one thousand dollar scholarship. In talent the preliminary winner was Miss Massachusetts, Valerie J. Amaral for her vocal performance of anyway. She wins a two thousand dollar scholarship. Thursday night is the last chance for Miss Mississippi to win a preliminary competition. She competes in talent singing the song made famous by Billie Holiday, God Bless the Child. You can still cast your vote for Miss Mississippi as your favorite contestant. Those votes can help her place in the Top 16 Saturday night when Miss America 2008 is crowned.
