Trustmark Brance Hit by Robbers

Two men have robbed the Trustmark branch in Byram.

Because they had their faces and heads covered, all police know about them is they are male. Officers say the two men came in with the hooded jackets, showed tellers guns and demanded money.

It is the third time since 1999 this bank branch has been robbed, but the last robbery here was in 2000, prior to the one Tuesday morning.

Officers have very little information on the robbers. Captain Ken Magee is the spokesman for the Hinds County Sheriff's Department. "Both suspects produced handguns, made a demand of money, at this time we are trying to determine exactly how much money was taken, the FBI has been called in, they will assume the investigation, we will assist them in any way possible," said Capt. Magee.

Police believe the robbers had a waiting vehicle, got in it and headed north on I-55 toward Jackson.
