Mississippi Manufacturers Assoc. Backs Senator Wicker

Mississippi companies say they're backing the man they believe can bring more quality jobs to Mississippi in the upcoming District One Senate Race.

Friday afternoon the Mississippi Manufacturers Association announced they were endorsing senator Roger Wicker in the November race.

The announcement was made at McNeely Plastics Plant on Industrial Drive in Clinton. Recently the race between Wicker and former Mississippi Governor Ronnie Musgrove has heated up among allegations from each camp.

Wicker denies the attack from Musgrove, that he mis-used campaign contributions.

Roger Wicker(R) Mississippi said, "You can contribute to a primary and some people contributed to my primary campaign for the House seat then when I became a candidate for senate there was still an opportunity to contribute to the general election. That's what they did. I think Governor Musgrove is confused about the campaign law."

Wicker says if he wins in November, he will make workforce development, cures for high energy costs and fair trade in the global market among his goals for the Mississippi workplace.

He also claims Governor Musgrove was responsible for the loss of 38,000 jobs in Mississippi during his term as state leader.
