Gas Concerns Wane

Concerns over gas availability and increased fuel prices have begun to settle down. Several gas stations in Rankin County ran out of gas Thursday night due to a run on gas, are back in business.

People bought gas in large volumes, in anticipation of Gustav, draining some stations of their supply. In some areas of Brandon we saw prices rise $.30 in a 24-hour period. At those same gas stations Friday, the price had fallen $.04.

The lines at several stations have begun to dwindle down also, as gustav's path has shifted to the west of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
