JPD officers busy with morning shootings

It was a busy Sunday morning for Jackson police as they investigated several shootings in the capital city.  

An unidentified black male was shot multiple times in the upper torso shortly before 5 a.m.  It happened in the 900 block of Bratton Street.  The victim was transported to UMC.  He's listed in serious condition.  Police have no suspects.  

Officers were then called to a shooting at 1075 I-20 West.  That's were they found Florentino Ballesteros shot once in the arm.  His injuries are not life threatening.  There are no suspects in this case at this time. 

There was an accidental shooting at a home in the 900 block of Whitworth Street just before 8 a.m.  Twenty-nine year old Cleveland Young of Canton and his relatives reported that Young accidently shot himself in the shoulder.

All three cases are under investigation.
