The Fats of Life
Most of us recognize that eating too much fat is not good for our health. Not only will certain types of fats raise cholesterol and increase risk for heart disease, fat is also very high in calories and contributes to weight gain.
Understanding how to use fat in a healthy way is important. Let's face it, fat makes food taste good! It also happens to be a necessary nutrient, so eliminating fat from our diet is not a good idea. Instead, as we approach this holiday season, try to think about making a switch toward healthier fats when planning your meals or preparing recipes.
