Musgrove and Wicker make final push before elections

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - One third of the U.S. Senate seats and all 435 in the House of Representatives are up for grabs tomorrow.

There are some very tight races around the country like the race between senatorial candidates Roger Wicker and Ronnie Musgrove. Both candidates traveled to several cities across the state for a final push before tomorrow.

Musgrove flew into Hawkins Field in Jackson this afternoon to meet with supporters and the press. Wicker stopped at Republican campaign headquarters in downtown Jackson to talk with the media and thank volunteers.

Both candidates recognized the state of the economy is on most voters minds as they head to the polls.

"Mississippians are for main street conservation for free market principles to get our country back on track. That's one of the choices Mississippi will be face with and it's one of the reasons I feel so encouraged about our chances for victory," said Roger Wicker (R) Senatorial Candidate.

"People have watched their jobs go overseas. I'll fight for fair trade deals. We'll stop giving breaks to Wall St. That's what I'll do as U.S. Senator. Stand up for Mississippians," added Ronnie Musgrove (D) Senatorial Candidate.

Both men plan to vote early tomorrow morning when the polls open and then return to Jackson to watch the numbers come in.
