Pan-Seared Ginger Salmon - - Jackson, MS

Pan-Seared Ginger Salmon

  • 4 (6 0z.) salmon fillets, skin-on
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 1/2 cup lite soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp. fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive oil
  • 1 bunch scallions or green onions, finely diced

Rinse salmon fillets and set aside.  In small bowl, add warm water and honey and mix until the honey dissolves.  Add the soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.  Mix well.  Pour marinade over salmon fillets in a large re-re-sealable plastic bag.  Refrigerate for about 10 minutes.  Heat a large sauté or grill pan over medium high heat.  When the pan is hot, add the olive oil and place the salmon in the pan, skin side up.  Sear for about 3 minutes.  Turn salmon and cook for another 3 minutes.  Remove from pan, garnish with scallions, and serve immediately.
