Trial date delayed for suspect in JSU student's death

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Trial is delayed for the man accused of killing a Jackson State student.

Investigators believe 25-year-old Stanley Cole killed his ex-girlfriend Latasha Norman back in November 2007. Norman was last seen leaving JSU with Cole. She was reported missing, about two weeks before her body was found in a wooded area of north Jackson.

The delay was granted after Cole's attorney told the judge he wasn't ready for the January 12th trial. He said he had not been provided evidence or a police file he needs to review.

No new trial date has been set.
